The following individuals have nominated themselves to sit on UTRU’s Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 Term. As part of the nomination process, they provided the following information for your consideration.

Voting will take place during our annual nominating convention on Saturday, October 15 at 10 AM. Ballots will be sent via email to voting members after the last nominee has spoken to the group and we have taken any floor nominations. This is estimated to be sent at approximately 10:30 AM.

Only dues-paying members will receive a ballot. Dues must have been paid between October 1, 2021, and October 15, 2022, at 10 AM MST. The minimum annual due is $5 or the average daily cost for you to use transit, whichever is higher. Dues above the $5/daily ridership cost minimum are appreciated but do not result in additional votes.

Why do you want to be on UTRU’s Board of Directors? I just sold my car to be more public transit minded. I work for UTA and am very passionate about my passengers and making public transportation more accessible and convenient for the public. I am a part of UTAgreen which is focused on clearing our air via increased ridership, and that is something I’m very concerned about.

Why do you want to be on UTRU’s Board of Directors? I have been serving on UTRU’s Board of Directors since the Summer of 2022 and it would be an honor to continue to serve the transit riders of Utah. Since joining the board, I have initiated collaborations between UTRU and UCAIR as well as the University of Utah where I serve as Faculty in the School of Medicine. I am actively writing a grant to support for UTRU to expand our educational opportunities with constituents, and have pushed the organization to be inclusive of women as well. I want to continue my role at UTRU to help address our air quality issues through the most effective means possible – better transit! In addition, I ride the bus to and from work as well as for errands to understand the issues with transit ridership and do my part to lessen air pollution in the valley. I hope I can have your support to continue in this role.
