BECOME A MEMBER/MAKE A ONE-TIME OR ONGOING DONATION

Membership in UTRU is free, but dues are required to vote in the Union and receive additional Union benefits.

Dues are required annually and go towards maintaining the Union.

Dues are based on the honor system: the minimum for dues is your cost to use transit in a day or $5, whichever is higher. Higher contributions are appreciated but do not increase the number of votes given.

If you make your dues a monthly contribution, we will send you to a little swag! For your ongoing donation, we will send you any two of the four stickers we currently offer:

  • My other bike is a train
  • My other bike is a bus
  • I prefer professional drivers
  • I only use professional drivers

You will also receive three of our UTRU-branded stickers. Individual stickers can also be purchased for $7.50 each. You will be contacted after completing your transaction to confirm which set you would like to receive.

DONATE TO UTRU WHILE YOU SHOP!


Smith’s Inspiring Donations allows you to give automatically, and at no cost to you, while using your FreshValues Card! 

Here’s how you do it:

1. Create a digital account.

A digital account is needed to participate in Smith’s Inspiring Donations. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2. Link your Card to UTRU.

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the Smith’s Inspiring Donations selection on your digital account.

  1. Sign in to your digital account.
  2. Search for UTRU here.
  3. Enter “Utah Transit Riders Union” or our NPO number (LB779) in the search bar.
  4. Select UTRU from the list by clicking “Enroll.”

The Utah Transit Riders Union will display in the Smith’s Inspiring Donations section of your account. If you need to review or revisit your organization, you can always do so under your Account details.

3. UTRU earns.

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you! Smith’s Inspiring Donations will donate 0.5% of all eligible spending to organizations that customers have linked to their Rewards Card.
