John Pearson

Dr. John Pearson is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and the Director of the FACET (Fire, AI, Climate, Epi, Transit) Lab at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He relocated to Salt Lake City in 2019 following a Clinical Informatics fellowship at Harvard Medical School. A Boston native, Dr. Pearson became well-versed in public transit systems early in life using the MBTA (“the T”) and continued to rely on them throughout his medical training in New York City. With a firm belief in transit and cycling infrastructure as vital solutions to pressing environmental and affordability issues, he champions these initiatives as tools for community building. He joined the Utah Transit Riders Union (UTRU) board of directors in 2022 and rose to the position of Board President in 2023.
