UTRU is excited to announce the formation of four new committees to help direct the growing activities of the Union and we are asking you to sign up and get involved!

Our four committees are:

Public Outreach and Engagement

• Seeks opportunities to interact with the public on transit-related issues.
• Recruits potential new members and leadership.
• Generals media and advertising.

Membership

• Works with existing chapters and helps to create new chapters.
• Creates and maintains engagement opportunities for members.
• Works to convert non-dues-paying members into dues-paying members.

 Fundraising

• Identifies and pursues grants and private donations.
• Engages in large and small donor relations and growth.
• Creates and maintains donor benefit programs.

 Politics and Policy

• Creates and maintains programs to help promote UTRU’s vision.
• Engages in lobbying in a way that does not risk 501(c)(3) status.
• Creates responses to public and private organizations related to UTRU’s mission.

Have your local leaders signed up for the 7-Day Challenge?

More than two dozen leaders (some anonymously)  at the local, regional, and state level have signed up to participate in the 7-Day Challenge, with more signing up daily!

The challenge, set to being on May 20th, is asking leaders their thoughts on transit before, during, and after the challenge. We will also be working with these leaders after the Challenge to discuss ways they can make their communities more transit friendly in the future.

As UTRU continues to grow, it is becoming more and more important that we engage our members through polls, votes, and forums to identify the issues we all are facing as we use transit so that we can focus our efforts on what matters to members.
